The city of Nashville, Tennessee, is a vibrant city that's home to a variety of unique neighborhoods. Historic Edgefield

Historic Edgefield sits on the east side of the Cumberland River, just beyond Interstate 24 and across from downtown. Combined with the unique homes and neighborhood attractions, this location is ideal for many Nashville residents who want quick and easy access to downtown for work and play but desire a quieter community to call home. In their neighborhood, residents can check out the many local shops, restaurants, and cultural spots along Main and Woodland Streets, like Greko Greek Street Food and The Basement East music venue.

East Park also provides one of the area's best green spaces, sports facilities, a pool, and a community center. In addition, Historic Edgefield is just a quick stroll from the riverfront Nissan Stadium, home of the NFL's Tennessee Titans, college football's Tennessee State Tigers, and numerous other concerts and events.

Some buildings in Historic Edgefield date back to the mid-1800s, while many others are a century old or more. However, more newly constructed housing is common throughout the area, including a mix of townhouses and condos. Various architectural styles and sizes are available for differing price points. While multifamily units start in the mid-$300s, prices quickly rise into the high six figures for single-family homes in Historic Edgefield, commonly topping out as high as $1.5 million or more.


Inglewood homes line the riverfront on the east side of the neighborhood, giving plenty of opportunities for views. Across the river, some homes in Pennington Bend even have private docks!

Inglewood has the air of an older, established neighborhood, with a variety of housing stock ranging from the 30s and 70s all the way to new construction. Listings often range in price from the high $500s to around the $1 million mark.

Elsewhere in the neighborhood, there are multiple shopping and dining options along Gallatin Pike, and residents have easy access to Opry Mills Mall, Shelby Park, and other amenities.

In between, most sell from the high $400s to just over $1 million. Many offer extensive on-site amenities, including pools and fitness centers.

Charlotte Park

Charlotte Park is a sought-after community on the opposite side of the river from Bells Bend, along Interstate 40. The neighborhood is poised for extensive redevelopment in the years ahead, particularly along the main thorofare of Robertson Avenue. But there's plenty to do, from relaxing in the namesake park to grabbing some delicious local seafood at the Blue Moon Waterfront Grille.

The area is also a shopper's dream, thanks to the massive Hill Center mall just to the south. The complex has big box stores, department stores, specialty retailers, and more. Combined with the easy transportation provided by several nearby highways and interstates, it's easy to see why the area attracts so many homebuyers.

Single-family houses comprise most of Charlotte Park, including some that back directly onto the river. They generally start in the mid- to high $300s. Plentiful larger or new construction homes are also available, from the $700s to around $900,000. While most homes in Charlotte Park are detached properties, homebuyers can also find a selection of Nashville condos and townhomes. Condos sell from the mid-$200s to the mid-$700s, with townhomes usually listing around the top of that range.

Old Hickory
