Relocating to Nashville provides many living options. Whether you choose a suburb of the city or the center, you need to first do your research. Downtown is a great area for the right type of person. Not everybody will love living downtown, however.

This is the center of entertainment in Music City and defines the city. When you live downtown, you will find a ton of entertainment within walking distance, along with all the shopping you desire. From the Shermerhorn Symphony Center to Bridgestone Arena, everything you could ask for is downtown. Other downtown attractions include:

  • Frist Center for Visual Arts
  • Ryman Auditorium
  • Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum
  • Johnny Cash Museum
  • And so much More!

Live music is what the city is all about and downtown will provide you with more live music venues than any other part of Nashville. Along with the live music, you can enjoy excellent restaurants, such as:

  • The Capitol Grille
  • The Stock-Yard
  • Merchants
  • The Southern Steak & Oyster
  • Puckett's Grocery & Restaurant
  • Jack's BBQ
  • And More!

From southern comfort food to fine dining, you'll find a variety of cuisines scatters around downtown.

The nightlife is another huge part of the area with many famous honky-tonks including Tootsie’s, Robert's Western World, Layla's Bluegrass Inn and Silver Dollar Saloon.

Of course, the city centers around music and you'll find plenty of it downtown. The best part about this area of Nashville is the variety. You can enjoy national acts or choose one of the local bands playing at a more intimate venue.

Singles, young couples and those without kids will love the downtown area. Some families will enjoy this type of living, but the area attracts singles more than families. The area is most loved by those looking for excellent music, great entertainment, abundant shopping and a fast-paced lifestyle.
