Hot Chicken Week (Jan. 26–Feb. 1)

Love spicy food? You're in luck.

Over 30 restaurants around Nashville offer special $8 hot chicken dishes during Hot Chicken Week. Each place creates their own version—some stick with traditional recipes, others get creative.

Zoolumination Festival of Lights (Nov. 13–Feb. 8)

Haven't seen it yet? There's still time!

More than 1,000 custom silk lanterns light up the zoo at night. It's the nation's largest lantern festival! You'll see giant illuminated animals, holiday scenes, and live performances. There's also an ice rink and plenty of food and drinks.

At this point in the season, Zoolumination is open Thursday through Sunday from 5–9 p.m.

Great for families or date night. Just dress warm—it's all outdoors.

• Single-night tickets: $25 adults, $21 children (ages 2–12); skating is extra

Mardi Gras Events

Family Mardi Gras Party (Feb. 7)

Belle Meade Historic Site throws a family-friendly Mardi Gras bash on February 7.

Kids can make their own masks with feathers, jewels, and glitter. Everyone gets King Cake (you might find the hidden baby!). There's also games, a photo booth, and a Mardi Gras parade dance to wrap things up.

The event runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. It's come-and-go style, so show up whenever works for you.

Admission is $12 per student. Kids 4 and under get in free, plus one adult per family. Extra adults pay $18.

Official Mardi Gras Bar Crawl (Feb. 7)

Rather enjoy some adults-only revelry? The Official Mardi Gras Bar Crawl is taking over Nashville on the 7th. A $19 ticket get you waived cover fees, discounted food and drink specials, and a whole horde of new friends dressed in outrageous costumes. Pick up your ticket early—beads and masquerade masks are available while supplies last!

Participating bars this year include favorites like Live Oak, Tin Roof Demonbreun, Green Light, Redneck Riviera, and more.

Nashville Fat Tuesday Bar Crawl (Feb. 17)

Ready for round two? Hoppers Bar Tours is celebrating on Fat Tuesday itself with a three-hour bar crawl from 5–8 p.m. Start at Mel's Drive-In and get free welcome shots and $5 specials at some of the best local bars around. Even better: once your tour's over, your VIP wristband gets you discounts for the rest of the day.

Arts & Culture Events

It's no surprise that Music City is full to the brim with performances. (Check out the online calendars for the Ryman Auditorium, Bridgestone Arena, The Grand Ole Opry, Marathon Music Works, Brooklyn Bowl, The Blue Room, and other music venues—we simply can't cover all of the dozens of concerts available!)

Amadeus Live (Jan. 31–Feb. 1)

Experience the Academy Award-winning film Amadeus in a multi-sensory experience like never before.

The Schermerhorn Symphony Center shows the movie on a massive HD screen while the Nashville Symphony performs Mozart's music live. A full orchestra and choir play in perfect sync with the film.

SIX: The Musical (Feb. 3–8)

Henry VIII's six wives get their moment at Tennessee Performing Arts Center.

This award-winning musical flips centuries of heartbreak into a celebration of modern women. It's got girl power, amazing music, and a Broadway album that hit 6 million streams in its first month.

The Washington Post and New York Times both called it "luminous and invigorating." They're not wrong.

Tickets start at $61. Eight performances:

• Tuesday–Friday at 7:30 p.m.
• Saturday at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
• Sunday at 1 p.m. (with ASL/captioning available) and 5 p.m.

Nashville Chamber Music Series (Feb. 8)

Classical music fans should mark February 8th on their calendars.

The Nashville Chamber Music Series presents a special performance at The Parthenon. They're releasing a vinyl recording of "The Great Space" for string quartet, complete with contemporary dance choreography by Becca Hoback.

The evening also features original works by composers Timbre Cierpke, Laura Epling, and Cristina Spinei.

A Tale of Two Swans (Feb. 9 & Feb. 27–March 1)

Two separate ballet companies are performing this famous story this month! Whether you choose Grand Kyiv Ballet or Nashville Ballet, you're sure to have an awe-inspiring experience.

The Grand Kyiv Ballet brings Swan Lake to the Ryman Auditorium on February 9.

This internationally renowned troupe features dancers from Ukraine, Italy, Spain, the USA, and Japan. Expect stunning stage designs, colorful costumes, and world-class ballet.

Perfect for ballet fans or anyone who's never seen it performed live. Tickets start at $51; the show starts at 6:30.

Nashville Ballet presents director Paul Vasterling's interpretation of Swan Lake at TPAC.

The Nashville Symphony performs Tchaikovsky's score live. Elegant choreography and sweeping visuals bring this romantic, tragic tale to life.

The Music of The Lord of the Rings (Feb. 26)

Belmont University's Fisher Center hosts an epic concert featuring music from Tolkien's world.

A film orchestra, choir, and star soloists perform music from The Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit, and The Rings of Power. An original guest star from the films makes an appearance.

Expect everything from the ominous tunes of Mordor to the graceful melodies of the elves. Tickets start at $59; the two-hour show starts at 4:30 p.m.

Dinosaur World Live! (Feb. 11)

Kids who love dinosaurs will go crazy for this internationally acclaimed show at TPAC.

Life-like dinosaurs fill the stage—T-Rex, Triceratops, Giraffatitan, and more. An intrepid explorer guides you through this prehistoric world. After the show, kids can meet and greet with the dinosaurs. It's interactive, entertaining, and educational all at once.

Valentine's Day Events

Nashville goes all out for Valentine's Day. Here are a few of your options.

Valentine's Wine Tasting Excursion Train (Feb. 14)

Board an excursion train at Tennessee Central Railway Museum for a wine-tasting journey to Watertown.

DelMonaco Winery hosts tastings in every train car. A live band roams the train. During the layover in Watertown, grab lunch and shop around the square.

Victorian Valentine's Day Party (Feb. 14)

Belle Meade Winery's family-friendly come-and-go event runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Make Victorian Valentine cards, learn the secret language of fans and flowers, and craft Victorian Hearts garlands. There are also games, a photo booth, and Valentine's snacks.

Admission includes craft materials, refreshments, and grounds access. $18 per adult, $12 per student (ages 5–17), ages 4 and under free, plus one adult per family free. Online registration is encouraged but not mandatory.

Valentine's Soirée at Belle Meade Winery (Feb. 14)

For a more upscale evening, Belle Meade Winery offers an indulgent Valentine's experience.

Start with an interactive Bourbon Mixology demonstration. Then enjoy stationed hors d'oeuvres paired with wines and craft cocktails from the full open bar.

The main event? A four-course gourmet dinner served at your private table for two. Executive Chef Stephen Kruger prepares the meal while a local guitarist provides romantic background music.

This is the fancy date night option.

The Nashville Show (Feb. 12–14)

Formerly the Tailgate-Music Valley Antique Show, this event at Fairgrounds Nashville features over 150 top dealers.

Browse American and Continental furniture, folk art, fine art, and vintage items. This year adds a new Jewelry and Vintage Style Show section celebrating fashion history and storytelling jewelry.

Hot Chocolate Run (Feb. 21)

Choose a 5K, 10K, or 15K race that ends in chocolate heaven.
