The Best Restaurants for Social Beverages in NashvilleWhen you take the typical social lubricants, such as wine, beer and liquor out of the equation, two of the most popular social beverages remain. Coffee and Tea have become a regular part of the social scene for business professionals, students, moms, dads, teenagers and just about anybody old enough to enjoy these beverages. Here are the best places for coffee and tea throughout Nashville.

Crema

Crema is one of the hottest coffeehouses in the city and provides a variety of delicious coffee beverages. They roast their own beans and actually call themselves a "coffee brewtique." They placed at the Roasters Choice and Brewers Cup competitions in the past and have received many other awards. Crema is actually the first Nashville coffeehouse to ever place in either competition.

Barista Parlor

This coffeehouse could easily be listed at the top choice in the city, but they don't roast their own beans, yet. Owner Andy Mumma has started rumors that a roasting operation is in the works for Barista Parlor, as well. They serve a delicious cup of coffee and they provide many excellent hot beverages.

High Garden Tea

If you prefer tea, you can get it at any of the coffeehouses, but the best place in the city for tea is High Garden Tea. This is a teashop with a massive variety available for purchase. It's found in the Shoppes on Fatherland and you will notice immediately, its floor-to-ceiling shelves of tea.

Whether you're searching for a unique blend or just something more mainstream, you will find it here. The homemade blends are amazing and some of the best you will find in the entire state.

Bongo Java

Considered to be Nashville's oldest coffee company, Bongo Java is also the first Nashville roaster to offer organic, fair trade coffees in retail stores throughout the city. Bongo is a true Nashville staple: visit the original location on Belmont and enjoy the patio and people watching, their second establishment in East Nashville, or stop by the kiosks at the Johnny Cash Museum and the Omni Hotel. It's claim to fame is the Nun Bun, and there's always an assortment of single origin coffees, blends, and decaf to try. Stay and enjoy the all-day breakfast menu, or stop in for salads, wraps, sandwiches and more served during lunch and dinner.

Other excellent beverage restaurants include:

  • Frothy Monkey
  • Bongo Java
  • Fido

All of these establishments provide a great product for everybody to enjoy in the city of Nashville.
