The growth of Cool Springs can be dated back to the opening of the Cool Springs Galleria Mall. Once the location was decided upon the old adage of "if you build it they will come" definitely applied.
Cool Springs Galleria and Cool Springs Crossings are located 15 miles south of Nashville in Franklin, TN. Cool Springs Galleria has five department stores, over 165 specialty shops, and the 500 seat Oasis Food Court.
Cool Springs also functions as a center for business and becoming a popular location for business to relocate the headquarters too. Nissan has recently announced the move to Franklin and Cool Springs from CA. This has a great impact on the Cool Springs area and has resulted in an influx of Californians who are selling their current homes for 3-4 times the cost of a comparable home in the Nashville area.
This migration of business to the Cool Springs area has had the effect of popularizing the area by the attraction of peripheral support industries. The long term effect of these new residents is likely to enhance the areas appeal even further when friends and relatives come and visit the new home owners and see for the selves the value of a $500,000 compared to say Los Angeles.
This area is still growing although it's difficult to see what else can be added! Cup cakes seems to be a favorite!
