Green Hills is a suburban neighborhood located just six miles south of Downtown Nashville. Most people living in Green Hills are less than 15 minutes away from Bridgestone Arena, Nissan Stadium, and everything Downtown Nashville offers. 

The 440 Parkway—integral to day-to-day driving in Nashville—marks the northern boundary of Green Hills. Once a person gets on the south side of the parkway, it feels more quiet and peaceful despite being in a major metro area. Rolling hills, tree-lined streets, and charming Southern architecture are everywhere to be seen. Residents don't have to leave the neighborhood to take care of regular shopping needs or services. Multiple grocery stores, the Mall of Green Hills, and many restaurants and cafés are nearby.

The city's master transportation plan includes a lot of alterations to intersections in the coming years to help with the flow of traffic. 

Residents looking to work out will want to check out the Green Hills YMCA. Located just south of the Mall at Green Hills, this facility has both indoor and outdoor pools, group fitness classes, weight rooms, a rock climbing wall, and more.

Neighborhood Shopping

The Mall at Green Hills is considered one of the best malls in the entire Nashville area. Many tourists who come to Nashville each year flock to Green Hills for the shopping that's available in the neighborhood. One popular shop is H. Audrey. This women's boutique was founded by singer/songwriter Holly Williams, the daughter of Hank Williams Jr. 

The mall is located near the geographic center of the neighborhood, making it convenient for all residents. Multiple grocery stores, including Kroger, Whole Foods, and Trader Joe's, are located directly south of the mall.

Outdoor Activities

The Battle of Nashville Monument Park is one of the most important Civil War battle sites in the area. It's located in the northeast part of Green Hills, just south of the 440 Parkway. This park has monuments dedicated to Union and Confederate soldiers in the Civil War, known as the Peace Monument. The park also honors Nashville soldiers who fought in World War I. Visitors can also see the "Witness Tree" next to the monument. It's designated as a "Historic Tree" and was standing the day when the Battle of Nashville took place back in 1864.

A number of Nashville’s best parks are also highly accessible from Green Hills, so there’s no shortage of ways for residents to get outdoors. 

Restaurants, Breweries & Bars

The Bluebird Café in Green Hills, one of Nashville’s must-see attractions, is one of the most famous smaller venues in the city. It has a limited menu of sandwiches and drinks. Most people come to the Bluebird to see artists like Garth Brooks, Taylor Swift, Keith Urban, and others who have performed in this intimate setting over the years.

Kalamatas is on Hillsboro Pike in the center of Green Hills. It offers delicious Mediterranean fare in a chic setting, and it's also a good place to pick up some takeout.

The Crow's Nest is one of the locals' favorite sports bars in Green Hills. It's a great spot for excellent pub foods, beer on tap, and watching games on the big screens.
