The highly-determined and focused faculty and staff of Sunset Middle School is currently headed by Principal Dr. Tim Brown and Assistant Principals Gidget Walsh and Kelly Ferguson.
Sunset Middle School was established in the '06-'07 school year in an effort to meet the needs of a growing population and the children who call the Brentwood and Nolensville areas home. At first, grades 6 and 7 were the only course offerings available, but as the population grew, 8th grade core curriculum was added to meet the community's needs. As with many Williamson County schools, Sunset Middle School is extremely dedicated to providing a top-tier education to its students, and they understand how important and vital a parent's role is in their child's education. This is supported through a heavily-active PTO (Parent-Teacher Organization) determined to maintain high standards in regards to each and every student's education. This is bolstered by the tutoring provided by many of the teachers here at Sunset Middle School as well as the many excellent clubs and activities, such as yearbook, student council, science club, drama, forensics, chess club, and much more. Not to mention the fact that they also offer a rather extensive athletics program with such major sports lineups as football, basketball, baseball, softball, soccer, tennis, golf, track and field, dance, and cheerleading.
