If you enjoy all kinds of racing fun, you need to know where you can go for the best racing in and around Nashville. Here's a list of some of the best choices throughout Nashville and Tennessee.

The race season has arrived, yet again, ready to take Nashville by storm. Everyone's favorite racers will go head to head on the most incredible racetracks in Tennessee. As these drivers take on their contenders, they also take on the challenges of learning and excelling on a new track. Enthusiasts can watch the drama unfold—and maybe even learn a thing or two—by heading down to the three following awesome racetracks in Nashville, Tennessee.

Nashville Superspeedway—4847 McCrary Road, Lebanon

The Nashville Superspeedway rose to fame as a premier NASCAR track, boasting the longest concrete oval track at the time. Up to 150,000 people would come to see their favorite drivers, newbies and legends alike, race on this track. This speedway became well-known as the place for drivers to go to get their first win and build their careers. In true Music City fashion, each winner would receive a Gibson Les Paul guitar designed just for the occasion.

As this track has closed its doors to competitive racing, all that glory lives in the past. Residents and tourists can book a spot at their driving school to experience all this track has to offer for themselves. Through the Rusty Wallace Racing Experience, people can learn all the tricks of driving a stock car at speed. Expansion plans promise to bring a drag strip and road course to the site, perhaps putting the speedway back on the map in the motorsports world.

Music City Raceway—3302 Ivy Point Road, Goodlettsville

Although its name has changed from Union Hill Raceway to Music City Raceway, the spirit of competition lives on. From fun amateur drag races to full NHRA runs, this racetrack offers something for everyone. Starting in the spring, they begin every race season with test and tune runs to give newcomers and greats a chance to test out their rides. From there, they ramp up the competitive season by running bracket races and time trials through the fall.

Music City Raceway welcomes guests to watch the action at all their competitive and testing events. At each visit, people can watch an amazing array of interesting vehicles blast down the track. Street cars, motorcycles and funny cars all hit the strip to hit their target times and bring home the win. Many racers build their reputation at this track before moving onto national competitions. Spectators can follow these racing careers from their early test and tune days through their national wins.

Fairgrounds Speedway—625 Smith Avenue, Nashville

For more than 100 years, the Fairgrounds Speedway has served as the place to go to watch exciting races. When they first opened their doors, only horses, horseless carriages and motorcycles raced on the oval track. In the 1970s, the track expanded in length and gained banking around the corners to increase speeds. The current track configuration features a ¼ mile paved oval inside a ½ mile banked oval.

With these configurations, visitors are treated to a delightful array of racing events, including stock car racing. The sprint car series tends to draw large crowds as it runs through the summer. They also hold regular dirt track racing events to wow their guests with a little something different.

By visiting these three racetracks in Nashville, people from all over can experience the best the motorsports world has to offer. These tracks keep the spirit of motorsports alive and well in Music City.

All three of these racetracks provide plenty of action from drag racing to NASCAR events.
