Ferris wheels have become iconic symbols in cities all across the globe over the years, perhaps most notably in places like London, Chicago, and countless beach towns throughout Southern California.
According to a recent report, Nashville could soon be added to that list sooner rather than later as Mayor Barry continues to explore brining more family friendly entertainment attractions to the heart of downtown.
While conversations are only in the beginning stages, one proposal involves adding a new “observation wheel” on city-owned property near Nissan Stadium and Cumberland Park, which would also offer some pretty spectacular views of the Cumberland River and downtown skyline should the project eventually move forward.
Another element worth noting about the proposal is that the new observation wheel wouldn’t be a typical ferris wheel you see at a fair or carnival but rather something more along the lines of the London Eye, only on a bit of a smaller scale.
As of now, nothing has been made official, and according to the original report from the Nashville Business Journal, the mayor’s administration is currently exploring numerous options that could help improve Nashville’s family-friendly entertainment landscape.
