Where to Ice Skate in Nashville, TN

Tennessee may not be known for its hockey teams or figure skaters, but that doesn't mean there aren't places to skate, learn, play, and compete in the rink. We chose to highlight 4 great ice skating options around the city to help you find the best Nashville ice rink.

Centennial Sportxplex

Address: Centennial Sportxplex, 222 25th Ave N, Nashville, TN 37203

Centennial Sportsplex has two full-sized rinks for year-round indoor ice skating. Whether you're looking for recreational skating, birthday parties, or organized sports, they have many options available. The Centennial hosts both youth and adult hockey leagues, as well as open hockey sessions for $10 each (open hockey sessions are 18+). Public skating sessions cost $7 for 13+ years old, $6 for 5-12 years old, and children ages 4 and under are free. Spectating is also free, so you only pay to skate. They also offer discounts for military, students, and people with disabilities.

Ford Ice Centers

Antioch Address: Global Mall at The Crossings, 5264 Hickory Hollow Pkwy, Antioch, TN 37013

Located in Antioch, the Ford Ice Center offers public skate sessions and skate jams between the Predators' training sessions. For public skating sessions, pricing is $7.50 for adults, $6.50 for kids 3-10 years old, and free for kids between 0-2 years old. For regular skaters, they also have memberships and passes available for public skating, freestyle skating, hockey classes, figure skating classes, ballet classes, and both youth and adult hockey leagues. If you're skating with an organization, check out Ford Ice Center's Give Back Program for your organization to receive a quarter of proceeds from a public skate session.

Bellevue Address: Ford Ice Center, 7638 B Hwy 70 S, Nashville, TN 37221

Located in Bellevue, the Bellevue Ford Ice Center is the new massive recreational complex that just opened at the end of 2019. Conveniently located in Nashville proper, this location serves as a twin rink facility, offering tons of space for public skating, lessons, tournaments, and recreational hockey and figure skating. If you get peckish while skating, there is a snack bar with food and beer upstairs. Both Ford ice centers have a huge variety of available programs and skate times. Pick whichever is closest to you!

Opryland Hotel

Address: Opryland Hotel, 2804 Opryland Drive, Nashville, TN 37214

From November to January each year, the Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center offers all-day outdoor skating on 8,000 square feet of real ice. The price is $18.99 a person, which includes your skates rental and unlimited same-day skating. Plus, it's hard to a put a price on the decorated holiday ambiance! They also have professional ice skating shows during the holidays if you prefer to watch the pros.

GLOW Nashville

Address: GLOW Nashville, 19 Jr Gilliam Way, Nashville, TN 37219

There aren't a lot of options for outdoor ice skating due to climate here in Nashville, but GLOW Nashville is a must-visit if you're trying to fully embrace the holidays. Described as an "immersive holiday experience," GLOW features massive customized light sculptures of all shapes and sizes, an enchanted forest, 100-foot-tall Christmas tree, holiday markets and cafés, Santa's Workshop, and of course, outdoor skating. Although GLOW is only available in November and December each year, it's a must-see for visitors who want to skate underneath the twinkling lights or take a break from indoor sports complex skating.
