Here is some good new, with a little bad news about gas prices, just announced via CNN:

"The Dow on Tuesday closed above 13,000 for the first time since May 2008 after a 25-point gain on lower crude prices and a strong consumer report.

While the 13,000 level is not considered technically significant, it is a psychological milestone.

Investors have been keeping a close watch on the oil market, where crude futures rose almost 9% in seven consecutive days, settling at a nine-month high above $109 a barrel Friday, amid concerns about increased tensions between Iran and Western powers. 

The rise in oil prices has translated into higher gas prices, with the national average rising for 21 straight days."

Here is an update from Jennifer Wray of The Ashton Real Estate Group of RE/MAX Elite who is continuing to grow her real estate business with TAREG.

"This week I spoke to a few sets of buyers thinking of moving here from Florida, Michigan and California.

Extremely excited to see what the next few months look like as it seems they will be busy. Also, showing property in the Hillsboro Village area tomorrow to a couple looking for a house."

Mark showed downtown condos to out of state clients from Virginia Beach on Monday and Tuesday. These were two bedroom condos within walking distance of the honky tonk bars on Broadway and were between $250,000 to $350,000. The clients plan to spend vacation time there and then rent out the property on a week to week basis to people visiting Nashville.

Wednesday was spent showing lake homes to clients from San Diego planning to retire to Nashville. These were two to three bedroom properties  with lake frontage and docks between $250,000 and $400,000 and were located in Old Hickory, Mt. Juliet and Gallatin.

Friday was spent in training at All American Pest Control on our newly improved, highly functional and user friendly new TAREG website.

Jarrod had another busy week in real estate. 

He had a closing today on a Bank of America Short Sale Listing in Mt. Juliet and is in the process of finalizing a foreclosure contract with a first time buyer in Charlotte, TN. 

Jarrod also has been busy with new listings. 4723 Hwy. 76 in Cottontown will be coming on the market Monday and 321 Running Meadows in Portland will be available to see on Tuesday.

Another great week is in the books for Dean Williams of The Ashton Real Estate Group with REMAX Elite.

He spent the week working with multiple buyers and topped it off with a listing appointment for a townhome in south Nashville.

He helped a family from Las Vegas who needed information about communities in Brentwood for $600,000, including Copperstone, Willowmet, Sunset Park and Glenellen, among others.

He also worked with a first-time buyer couple looking in Lenox Village in south Nashville and helped them avoid a potentially bad investment opportunity by learning about future development in the area.

A great week for a couple of Staci Shepard's of The Ashton Real Estate Group of RE/MAX buyers with two accepted offers!

Staci's clients relocating to Tennessee have decided on a custom built home and couldn't be more excited about  picking out everything for their new home!

Staci also has a first time home buyer who has decided on a great condo close to downtown Franklin! She is also busy finishing up a contract set to close in two weeks.

Things are looking good for real estate sales in Nashville!

On February 10, Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke addressed the 2012 National Association of Homebuilders International Builders' Show in Orlando, Florida.

This has to be a story that is of interest to everyone because the housing market is effectively the heart of the nations economy and the healthier the real estate market the better the over all financial health of the USA.

I have condo under contract in Riverstone for some first time home buyers.

I have been taking out another first time buyer looking at houses and condos in Franklin and I'm pretty sure we will put an offer on one soon.

I set up another first time buyer with an appointment with Armando San Miguel at Brand Mortgage to discuss their loan options. This was a great appointment to show possible clients what they can buy when they are paying just as much in rent if not more. 

I have a client coming in from Iowa on Monday whom I've taken out a few times to hopefully make a decision on a home in the Gallatin and Portland area. He is even considering a custom home and we will meet with the builder next week $150,000-$200,000.
