Parmer Park was not officially established until 1986, and both the walkway and arch are still visible for guests to view today.

Woodmont Park

Woodmont Park was not originally a park. In fact, it was the Woodmont Elementary School that opened in 1931. Since then, the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County has been slowly working to create the best park possible for the community. The park is full of rich history and still has some remains of the elementary school on sight.

After decades of improvements, visitors to the park can now enjoy a new playground, basketball court, and tennis courts. Walking and running trails have been added into the park as well. The walkways have been lined with over 70 trees to add shade and make the walk more pleasant during the summer. Additionally, new pavilions, picnic tables, and benches continue to be added.

Centennial Park

Centennial Park is on the site of the 1987 Tennessee Centennial Exposition. Before this historical event took place, the plot of land that makes up Centennial Park was simply farmland. Described by the architect as an "undulating curve of green grass surrounding an area planted with wildflowers and natural grasses", every niche of Bison Meadow Park has been perfectly designed and planned. The design of the park follows the path of buffalo, bison, elk, and other animals that used to walk these lands as they returned to the salt lick on the Cumberland River.
