Homes in Lebanon, Tennessee
Lebanon has a mostly Protestant population, with about 22,000 residents. The area occupies 583 square miles and is located about 28 miles east of Nashville. Lebanon homeowners are serviced by a municipal airport, 2 bowling alleys, 2 nursing homes, a theater, a country club, 3 golf courses, a library, and 87 restaurants.
Named for the Biblical land of cedars, Lebanon real estate has a long and rich history. Native Americans called Lebanon home for thousands of years because the land offered a plenitude of game in its cedar forests and cane brakes. The War Between the States raged here too, but left enough of the historic Town Square to remain today as antique and gift shops. Lebanon is also home to Cumberland University, which opened its doors back in 1842.
