Originally opened in the fall of 1959, today Hillwood High School serves students grades 9-12 through three distinct academies of study; The Academy of Art, Design and Communications, the Academy of Business and Hospitality and The Academy of Health Sciences. Coupled with the accelerated core curriculum, students of Hillwood High School are given an opportunity to better prepare themselves for the careers they seek by getting an early start on the process here. The AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) program is advanced college preparatory focused on each and every individual students needs in order to better prepare them for their collegiate career.
The students of Hillwood High School are also given access to a top notch athletics program with football, ladies soccer, volleyball, cheerleading, wrestling, bowling and golf as well as an NCAA Clearinghouse. Not to mention the fact that such clubs and organizations like Spanish Club, Anime Club, Photography Club, Debate Club, FBLA and HOSA for those students who seek them.
