Its been a long time coming but the I65 North expansion is now finished and the Vietnam Veterans extension in to Gallatin is almost complete.

Gallatin's residents and business have been waiting early to hear that the Express way will finally be open. There have been a number of new subdivisions and retail developments that have all been built knowing that soon Gallatin will as close to Nashville as downtown Franklin. (Continued below)

The historic square is slowly but sure undergoing a rebirth and the City of Gallatin has come to realise that it has one of the most picturesque town squars in the area. The function of the retail stores is slowly changing in anticpation of the demand brought about by the influx of new residents who are moving to the Gallatin area to take advantage of the real estate being offered and the proximity to Nashville and Kentucky via I65

 

New sudivisions such as Cambridge Farms, Fairway Farms, Fairvue Plantation, Kennesaw Farms all give you a clue as to the history of Gallatin. With the development of the lake and the Vietnam Veterens, Hendersonville became the new growth area in the lates 1960's and 70's and Gallatin lost some of its previous appeal. Now Gallatin and Hendersonville are uniting and working together to bring new businesses and residents which will ultimately help every one prosper in Sumner County.
