World Cup and Real Estate

As probably everyone knows in America, the soccer World Cup is underway, and this world sport is starting to make some in roads in to the American sporting culture.

The England v USA has been recorded as one of the highest watched sportng events on TV as the game captured the friendly rivalary between the two countries. England were the favorites to win this game, having a team made up of world calss players who have established their reputations throughout the soccer world. The USA team had players that play in the US and Europe and have become a respected team although underdogs for the England game.

As it turns out, England scored quickly, but the USA scored just before the end of half time to level the game. At full time, the scoreline was still 1-1 and USA were declared the "victors" as they had upset the bookmakers and pundits!

If you were looking to see some real estate that saturday you have noticed a significant reduction in the number of realtors available to show homes from The Ashton Real Estate Group of RE/MAX Elite! Thats because most of us were watching the game. Jonny Lee and Gary Ashton are both from England and so were hoping for an English win. Theother guys on the team that came to watch the match, Jason K, Bob Benjamin, Keith Waller, Tommy Lee, David Elliot, Allen Shrum, Andy Brown, John Robinson, Bradley Barrett and Conley Black were all rooting for the USA. Some of the ladies on the team were not so interested in the game. Melissa Tanner, Barbara Chils, Missy Davidson and Paula Piskie were all out showing homes to buyers.

Luckily we all had an enjoyable game and still managed to show homes that day so all in all it was a win win situation for the USA and English teams as well as our real estate team.
