Nashville’s skyline is going to be changing soon due to the addition of some new high-rises in Midtown. One of the first things people are getting used to seeing when entering Nashville is cranes going up everywhere. Midtown is growing and it’s happening quickly, all at once. Virgin is coming to Music Row in 2016, luxury apartments are coming to the corner of Broadway and 17th Avenue plus a mixed-use development is coming to the area. Here is a look at these changes and more to the Midtown skyline of Nashville.

HCA

Last fall, HCA started their project to add a mixed-use development to north Gulch. It’s going to be a 16-story building with over 500,000 square feet of office space. It’s going to headquarter two subsidiaries of HCA including Parallon Business Solutions and Sarah Cannon Research.

Their 10 acres of the 32.5 acre lot is only a small portion because the rest is going to be 1 million square feet of office space with another 300,000 square feet going to grocery store, retail and even restaurant space. In fact, 1,000 apartment units and two separate hotels are a part of the equation as well.

The Thompson Hotel

Another lodging option is coming to the Gulch on the peninsula where 11th and 12th split. It’s a 12-story, 224 unit hotel featuring boutique retail and restaurant space on the street level and Doughnut Vault will be across from the hotel lobby. Check out the indoor/outdoor rooftop bar and lounge.

Virgin Nashville

Coming in 2016 is Virgin Nashville joining Music Row. It’s a 240-unit hotel with 15 residential penthouses, rooftop pool, wellness center and meeting space. There will be a Commons Club on the ground floor which is a hybrid bar/lounge/study area with a restaurant.

Skyhouse

A 25-story, 352-unit luxury apartment high rise is joining Midtown at the corner or Broadway and 17th Avenue. It’s going to feature 10,600 square feet of retail on the ground floor. The 25th floor will have the clubhouse, pool and a plaza with views of the city.

In addition, check out M Residences at 19th and Chet Atkins and Buckingham Midtown where Broadway, 21st Avenue and Division all meet.
