Belmont Weekday School serves children from the age of 9 months to 3 years. They provide a preschool type of atmosphere from 9am to 3pm, Monday through Friday. Programs are available for all week, Monday, Wednesday and Friday or Tuesday and Thursday.
They also offer programs for ages three to five, which include hours from 7:30pm to 5pm or 9am to 3pm, Monday through Friday. The school is not a daycare facility. Instead, they provide care with a play-based curriculum for children to learn and have fun at the same time.
Children attending the Belmont Weekday School and graduating are fully prepared to enter into Kindergarten. They will gain both social and academic skills as they get used to the structure the school provides.
The curriculum is implemented in a different way for each age group, which helps customize it to the needs of the children. Each group will have a focus on play, art, storytelling, physical activity, language, music and reading.
The school is a non-profit program provided by Belmont United Methodist Church. It's licensed by the State of Tennessee as a tuition driven school with a fundraising element. Some of the programs provided include:
- Nearly Threes
- Pre-K Fours
- Pre-K Fives
- And More!
The programs are all set up specifically for each of these age groups and supervised by at least two teachers.
The Belmont Weekday School is found at 2007 Acklen Avenue in Nashville. The facility provides eight classrooms all decorated with bright colors. They all provide large windows with plenty of natural light getting in. There's also a fully stocked library with plenty of children’s books and child-size furniture.
Along with the learning areas, the facility provides an indoor gymnasium and two playgrounds outside. The school also uses the church's sanctuary and community center for graduation and performances.
