Lewisburg is excited to announce the Goats Music and More Festival coming to the area this year on October 10th and 11th. The festival has been around for 12 years and offers a great time with no cost to the public. The festival is catering to families and guests of all ages, and will provide music and fun activities. You don’t want to miss this year’s festival experience.
How did the festival come about?
The festival started as a way to honor goats and the famous native “fainting” goat. The Fainting goat and the Boer goat are what the festival is centered around.
Fainting goats almost became extinct in the 80s but today are thriving. They become stiff-legged and sometimes fall over when startled, although it’s not harmful to the goats.
Boer goats came from South Africa and were eventually brought to eh US in the 90s. It has a muscular body and a reddish-brown colored head.
What to Expect
When you come to the Goats Music and More Festival, you will enjoy country, rock, acoustic, and bluegrass music. There will be food vendors, arts and crafts, and activities for kids.
Musical guests will include The Marshall Tucker Band and Joe Diffie. In the past, the festival has seen musical acts such as:

Head out to Old Farmington Road in Lewisburg, Tennessee this October for two days full of goat shows, arts, food, rides, and games. The festival begins at 9am on the 10th with the festival and goat shows, the music starts at 5pm, and on Saturday the activities will start at 1:00pm.
