Since they were installed, I have passed by those bike stations all over town and thought that it would be fun to rent one for a few hours. I finally found some friends that were interested in joining me. Keep in mind that Dennis & Tracy are avid bikers, not the kind with the spandex shorts, but the type that did a 30 mile ride before they even met me that day. Emily also joined us and debuted her newly acquired bike from Green Fleet Bike Shop on Edgehill appropriately dubbed Le Bronze James due to its beautiful hue.
Dennis strategically planned our route with bike lanes and plenty of stops at local watering holes, which as a novice I was incredibly grateful for. Check out his planning genius and feel free to copy: http://goo.gl/a1epAo We started at 3 Crow Bar and ended our ride meeting more friends at Beyond the Edge.
During our ride I quickly realized that riding East Nashville with all the hills was a bit ambitious for a first timer. Not only could my rented 3 speed bike not keep up with the rest, but my quads were on fire! Picture me pedaling as fast as possible with Dennis going super slow to look out for me in the back. Perhaps we should have done the Gulch. Either way it was a lot of fun and definitely a workout.
Renting the bike was simple and I received texts both at rental and return points. The bike was in great shape and even came with a basket for my purse.
