Nashville is well known for the many festivals throughout the year. One of the most unique is coming up at the end of September called the Goats, Music and More Festival. This festival will be held on September 26th through 28th, providing an opportunity for family fun and so much more.
History of the Festival
This will be the 11th year for the Goats, Music and More festival, which was created to honor goats in the area. Fainting and Boer are the two most famous goats honored at the festival with two goat shows called the Boer Goat Show and the Fainting Goat Show.
Things to do at the Festival
Many activities will be provided from music to arts and crafts to children's activities and more. This is a family event perfect for a weekend out of the house in late September. Many different vendors will be on hand at Rock Creek Park as the festival kicks off on Friday morning. Enjoy excellent food, crafts, arts, unique products, fun for the kids, goats, music and more.
A section dedicated just for the kids will be provided with all types of games and activities. Children can enjoy a petting zoo, mechanical bull, 35-foot slide, pony rides, bounce houses and more.
The 11th Annual Goats, Music and More Festival will features headliner, The Charlie Daniels Band taking the stage on Saturday at 7:30pm. The Entice Band is also going to perform and other musical guests will be announced very soon.
The Goat Rodeo
Starting the festival on Thursday is the Goat Rodeo. It will provide plenty of fun and proceeds will benefit Myotonic Goat Registry Youth Programs. The event will start at 6pm.
Goats Gallop 5K
You can run or walk for a good cause on Saturday starting at 6:45am. The Goats Gallop 5K provides the opportunity to help support local charities and will be held at Rock Creek Park for the sixth time as a part of the festivities.
