Located at 1345 Carnton Lane in Franklin, Tennessee the Carnton Plantation is one of the most interest attractions in the Nashville area. Franklin is a very desirable place to visit and Carnton Plantation is just one part of the area.
This plantation is a historic landscape and many visitors to Nashville add it to their itinerary. You can take a guided tour of the plantation, discover the home of Carrie McGavock and enjoy all the nooks and crannies of the plantation.
As one of the most interesting historic landmarks found in Franklin, you will want to plan plenty of time for your tour. Thing you will discover here include:
- The Confederate Cemetery - Carnton will forever be bound to the Confederate Cemetery because of the Battle of Franklin. It's known as a sacred plot of land where many have remained for decades.
- The Garden - This garden is very similar to what it was like in the 19th century.
- Museum Store - After visiting the Museum, you can enjoy shopping in the store. It's full of books, gifts and so much more.
These parts of the grounds are in addition to the actual plantation home, which you can discover through the guided tour.
Carnton Plantation Tours
A guided tour will allow you to see the best parts of the plantation and enjoy a guide with plenty of knowledge to share. Guided tours start at 9:30am most days and the last one is usually at 4pm. These tours are about an hour long and provide plenty of interesting stories and facts about the plantation.
Hours and Admission
The Plantation is open from 9am to 5pm Monday through Saturday and from 12pm to 5pm on Sundays.
Adults can enjoy the plantation for $15, while children ages six to 12 are $8. Seniors receive a $3 discount and grounds tours are $5.
