Until 2012, Nashville Ballet's Emergence event was restricted to once every other year, on even years only. This year on May 17 you can join Nashville, Tennessee's best ballet company in not only the normal celebration of artistic innovation, but also celebrating the upgrade from biennial to annual scheduling. The Emergence performances are always worth seeing because they are literally a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, but this year the stage is set to be a real showstopper.

What is Emergence?

Nashville marks its name as a city rich in creative talent. Typically, Music City USA is associated with – naturally – musicians. However, there are thousands of other talented artists throughout the community, including some of Tennessee's best ballet dancers and performers. Emergence will allow three stage choreographers the opportunity to express themselves with the assistance of the ALIAS Chamber Ensemble for musical backup, and supplemented with the stunning visual artistry put forth by Watkins College of Arts, Design & Film in Tennessee. One noteworthy choreographer who will be featured in emergence is Paul Vasterling, who is the artistic director and CEO of the Nashville ballet. He will be musically backed throughout his entire piece by none other than ALIAS Chamber Ensemble's very own Matt Walker.

When and Where is Emergence?

If you are a fan of the performing arts and wish to catch a glimpse of some of the best dancing in Nashville in 2012, then head over to The Martin Center for Nashville Ballet on May 17 at 7:30 PM, May 18 at 7:30 PM, or May 19 at 2 PM or 7:30 PM for an original, gratifying display of musical and performing talent. Tickets are $14 each and can be purchased online.

Even if you're not normally the type to come see a ballet, know that you will be supporting a nonprofit organization that does a lot of good for the city of Nashville...Nashville Ballet has their very own Outreach & Community Engagement program that you'll be supporting by attending Emergence in 2012.
