In case you missed it, prominent national home builder Del Webb announced plans earlier this week to break ground for a new 600-home development in Spring Hill that caters strictly to active adults 55 and over.
Being called Southern Springs by Del Web, the entire project will encompass about 300 acres of property, which is located just south of Saturn Parkway and east of the large General Motors manufacturing complex.
The city of Spring Hill has already approved the development’s first phase of 201 homes, which was originally planned by Lennar Homes until Del Web assumed control over the summer. Looking for additional ways to expand into Middle Tennessee, Southern Springs will now be Del Webb’s second project in the region in addition to another community in nearby Mt. Juliet.
According to Del Web, Southern Springs will feature plenty more than just desirable living spaces, offering an assortment of lifestyle amenities as well including a clubhouse, tennis courts, pickleball courts, and even multiple swimming pools.
A grand opening for the new Southern Springs community in Spring Hill is planned for sometime in the spring of 2017.
