While it’s no surprise as to why fans of Taylor Swift go to great lengths just to catch a glimpse or meet the country singer, one individual has taken things a little too far. 24-year-old Jacob Nicholas Kulke somehow thought it was a good idea to head on over to Swift’s home in a Nashville suburb and greet the “You belong with me” singer on her 23rd birthday.
Despite the fact that the act may seem completely acceptable, there are two things that make this deed completely wrong: Mr. Kulke chose to “surprise” Taylor during the wee hours of her special day, and hopped over the property’s fence in an attempt to do surprise her.
On top of all this, the star wasn’t even home when the stalker decided to visit, as sources say she was with her new boyfriend – Harry Styles of boy band One Direction – overseas in Britain. So instead of meeting the “I knew you were trouble” singer, Kulke was greeted by security guards patrolling the property, who immediately called local authorities.
According to an affidavit obtained by News Channel 5, the obsessed admirer told the guards that he was Swift’s boyfriend. The intruder from Wisconsin was charged with trespassing at 1:45 a.m., and is currently being held on a $10,000 bond.
Although “T-Swizzle” did indeed move to Music City to pursue a career as a country singer when she was fourteen years old, the property which the stalker trespassed was only linked to “T-Swizzle”, and has not been confirmed as her main residence.
The residence – rumored to be inhabited by Swift’s parents -- was purchased by a trustee who handles real estate transactions for the Grammy winner.
This isn’t the first time Kulke had trouble with the law – the suspect has been convicted of disorderly conduct, drug possession, and battery back in 2010 at Wisconsin.
